(Aug.27) Zinc on the London Metal Exchange closed at 1,775 usd, falling 2.2 percent.
Shanghai zinc futures declined. SMM #0 zinc (Zinc 99.995) was 14,150-14,250 yuan, while the actual trading price was in the range 14,100-14,150 yuan. Most traders though price would fall again. Supplier sold actively when price higher than 14,000 yuan. But buyers still waited and not accepted the recent quotation.
(Aug.26) Zinc was weak in both future and spot market. Domestic producing zinc traded around 14,300 yuan in the morning, but price can only maintain in the range 14,200-14,250 yuan in the afternoon. Price at 14,000 yuan would be tested in short run. If it falls below 14,000 yuan, buyers will be interested, but supply will decrease correspondingly.
(Aug.25) London zinc declined 2.66 percent and closed at 1,815 usd. There was a support at 1,800 usd per tonne.
Shanghai zinc future opened low and traded lower, fell from the resistance at 14,300 yuan. In spot market, #1 zinc (Zinc 99.995) and imported zinc most traded in the range 14,200-14,250 yuan, while domestic producing zinc sold at 14,250-14,270 yuan. Trading was not good enough.
